Useful tips on water supply and sewerage services

For improved service and efficiency, our telephone service has been outsourced to the Customer Service Center, which opened on January 11,2005.


The Customer Service Center handles the following matters:

  • Request to start/discontinue water service (* Be sure to notify us 4 or 5 days in advance.)
  • Notification of changes such as service user’s name
  • Water bill inquiries
  • Inquiries about water quality issues such as rusty water
  • Report of water leakage onto a street from a water supply pipe

The two offices of the Sakai City Waterworks and Sewerage Bureau shown below handle matters such as water bill payment.

All calls are recorded for the purpose of confirming the contents of customers’ requests and inquiries to ensure accuracy.
The recorded contents are used to improve our phone service. (The recording is automatically deleted between two weeks and one month after the phone call is made.)

Observe the following to use and protect the sewage system properly.

Do not throw or flush any foreign materials such as vegetable scraps, used oil and grease, and soiled diapers and sanitary napkins into the toilet bowl, kitchen sink drain, or bathroom drain outlets. These are major causes of clogged sewers. Of these, the most frequently observed are clogged toilet bowls. To unclog the toilet, try to remove the material causing the clog by using a rubber plunger. When this does not work, contact a drainage facility business as shown above.
